...for Military boot camp monday? My son left for the Naval Training Center in Illinois, Monday. I was just wondering if there was anyone else going through this with us.
When I said going through this, I guess I was talking to the Moms out there. I know they know what I'm talking about. It's very hard to adjust to the situation of having very little contact with your child for 8 weeks.

Thousands of people are dealing with the same things you are everyday. Check within your city to see if there is a VFW or American Legion, they sometimes have support groups that meet. You'll find many military families use these support groups. I commend your son on his choice to serve this great country and wish him the best of luck while he serves in the military. Hooah.

he will be fine, my boyfriend left on the 23rd and it was the worst feeling ever , you just have to keep in mind that he is coming back and he is ok. Dont bet on getting a call from him anytime soon tho, if you do then you are a very lucky women, i heard from my bf a week after he left, but unfortunatley i missed the call....u never know when hes gonna call so always keep the phone next to you ok, and sometimes he may say hes gonna call but dont bet on that either bc sometimes there that busy...and there phone calls are a privelege, so i hope your son is a good boy. I hope the best for you all and your son, you should be getting his cloths sometime this week in a box and with a letter saying that hes ok.

I know exactly what you are talking about! There are thousands of other moms that know how you feel too. When my son left for bootcamp (it was Marine bootcamp which lasts 12 weeks) it was so hard and I felt like part of me was gone--I was so emotional and it really did not stop until I got that first letter that said that he had arrived and was doing okay and had his address on it. By the time he finished boot camp, I think I knew exactly when the mailman would arrive and he knew me by name!

I also joined a Marine support board--actually it had a Recruit Parents section and we all shared stories and kept in touch on that board--when one received a letter and shared the info we all felt like we got a letter, ect. Noone else that has not had a child leave for bootcamp knows or understands what it does to your heart and soul as a mom. It is so difficult to send your child off like that, but the end results are so worth it! The bootcamp graduation is just about the greatest event I ever attended in my oldest son's life. The pride and respect and awe that you will feel when you see your son in uniform for the first time will make what you are feeling now totally worth it. Hang in there--write a lot of letters of support to your son while he's there--the 8 weeks will come and go before you know it!

If you're looking for a job in the finance industry, then it's important to understand insurance and how it - along with other things - contributes to healthy saving accounts balances. Whether you're looking for breakdown cover or wanting to compare home insurance, insurance is one of those things that - when it comes to an accident or something similar - will prevent you from having to scout the market for the best loans to pay off repair/accident fees.

A very big thank you to
