We had a ghost that sometimes appeared (well not really appeared, but took the phone off the hook and things like that) at a camp I worked at, but always in the same building. A friend of mine got tired of the pranks one night and firmly told the ghost to leave. Well, it left and went to another building at camp,where it proceeded to cause problems there.A friend of my dad's moved into a house where an elderly woman had died. She was terrorizing his dog, making pictures fall off the walls, locking him out of the house. The dog was so freaked he would just cower under a table most of the time. He finally told the spirit that it was his house now, and that he could deal with the pictures falling and little pranks, but to please stop bugging the dog. After his talk with the ghost, the dog almost immediately went into the bedroom and jumped on the bed and went to sleep. I don't know if the pranks have continued, but I know he and the dog still live peacefully in the house.So I would suggest simply asking the ghost to leave!
