Default Experienced Financial Modellers for PFI Project Finance Consultancy, London

Salary: From £50,000 up to £72,000 plus up to 20% bonus and good benefits
Location: London
To apply please email your CV to jason.absalom@parhamconsulting.com

One of the country's most dynamic and successful Project Finance Teams consulting to the Public Sector requires Financial Modellers at both Manager and Senior Manager level. The Financial Modelling team produce models to support business case development, assess affordability and VfM for procuring authority clients, or to price bids, support borrowing and investment decisions and to aid negotiations with the public sector for clients bidding for PFI contracts.

Therefore, the experience and qualifications they require are:

• A CCAB accountancy qualification OR a qualification appropriate to the sector in which you acquired your Financial Modelling experience, e.g. a banking or securities diploma. (The ideal classic profile for this role is a degree followed by an accountancy qualification, however they are not necessarily seeking accountants – you could come from an Investment background, but will need related formal qualifications)

• Experience in BUILDING financial models, specifically funding models, not simple cost models (I’m afraid experience solely in model review, analysis or due diligence, no matter how complex, is not sufficient)

• Experience of undertaking team-based Financial Modelling assignments for external clients

• Experience in infrastructure models, as in, the initial build phase followed by 10 - 30 year concession phase

• Excel

• Knowledge or experience of the PFI process

• Experience of PFI or Project Finance assignments working with banks or similar financial institutions

Please note the above attributes are essential – you require all of the above to be eligible for this role. Please also be aware that they are seeking someone whose main role has been financial modelling, as opposed to someone who has done financial modelling as a small part of a different role.

The crux of this position is the preparation and development of financial models to support PFI advisory activities, however there is a huge variety of other tasks in this role such as client bid advice, model review, Corporate Finance complex modelling support, shadow pricing and QA. Financial Models are used to support business case development, assess affordability, or to price bids, support investment decisions and to assist clients’ negotiations with the public sector. Often a generic model can be used, otherwise highly complex and tailored bespoke models are developed.

There is a great deal of external liaison in the role and a huge opportunity to grow with one of the fastest-growing, dynamic and successful Project Finance teams in the UK. This company is particularly popular with refugees of the Big 4 due to the inherent freedoms and absence of constraints in this team.

If you're looking for a job in the finance industry, then it's important to understand insurance and how it - along with other things - contributes to healthy saving accounts balances. Whether you're looking for breakdown cover or wanting to compare home insurance, insurance is one of those things that - when it comes to an accident or something similar - will prevent you from having to scout the market for the best loans to pay off repair/accident fees.

A very big thank you to
