If you get the right one, it just blends in as part of your clean-up crew. I prefer brittle stars in my reef tanks. Chocolate chip stars are cute and active, but they eat coral so I would skip that. Just be sure to do your research before you make a choice.

This depends on the species. Brittlestars are quite easy to keep, but they can disintegrate if they become stressed. Avoid Fromia starfish as these have a poor survival record in captivity.
