I want to pick up night fishing as a hobby. Does anybody know any tips that will help me-- best times to go, special lights, etc? What about bowfishing at night?

Ok lets see what about white perch fishing at night. First of all u need to be in a lake that has shad (minnows) and white perch. U need to get a 7" MH rod with no reel. Just tie the line to the last eye on the reel. U need some shad simular to the ones in the lake u are fishing. Last and most important u need an underwater light like the Bass pro shop Submersible fish light. hook it up to a batterie and drop it into the water the shad in the lake will come up and start circling your light. hook on a shad and drop it down in the water just outside of the circling shad. the white perch will be attracted to the school of fish and will start picking them off. Good luck Its alot of fun!!!!!!
