How can I apply and land a job?
I want to get a job for the rest of the summer and I want to continue it while I'm in school next fall. I picked out four stores where I would like to work: Borders, Books-A-Million, Walden Books and, Barnes and Noble (yes they are all bookstores, and yes I am a bookworm). And I do have backups in mind, just in case.The problem is that this would be my first real job and I really don't know how to fill out these basic applications. Three of them are online, and one (Walden) I would have to go to the store and talk to one of the workers. Would I have a better chance at getting that job? And for the online applications, how can I fill those out so that they stand out? Should I talk to the manager first before I apply (when I ask a plain worker they just tell me to apply online)? Should I call after I apply?I'm just really lost on what to do. I really do need a job, so if anyone has any advice please share it. I really appreciate it! Thanks!!
